Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the closest airport to the Bradenton Area?

Sarasota–Bradenton International Airport (SRQ). It’s actually in the Bradenton Area and just 15 minutes from the beach.

What can I rent when I’m there?

Almost everything. From condos to coolers, bikes to cars, beach chairs to surfboards – just pack your clothes and rent everything else when you get here. That goes for baby equipment, too. You can leave the highchairs and cribs at home.

What’s the best way to stay up-to-date on Bradenton Area events?

The public events calendar has most of the upcoming events happening in the area. To be even more up-to-date, sign up for our monthly newsletter. And if you truly love the Bradenton Area, like us on Facebook. We’re looking forward to hearing from you!

Is there a big difference between the different beaches?

The summer months are warm but not too hot. Average temperatures hover around the lower 80s. In the winter, you can expect everything to stay warm with temperatures around 70ºF.

Is the water warm enough for swimming all year long?

Yes. Even in the dead of winter the water temperatures stay in the 70s. Sure, it’s not bathwater-warm like it is in the summer, but still plenty warm to enjoy.

When is the best time to visit?

It depends. Most people visit during the spring and summer months, naturally. That’s when the water is warmest and you know all shops and restaurants will be open. While the fall and winter months don’t bring as many people, it can make for an even more relaxing trip. And most shops and restaurants are open year-round! We can’t decide which is best, but we can assure you there isn’t a bad time to visit the Bradenton Area!

What’s the best way to get around on Anna Maria Island?

The Anna Maria Trolley. It can take you anywhere on the island anytime between 6 am and 10 pm. You can also rent a bike, get a cab, or ride the Island Beach Monkeys Bus.
