The South Florida Museum is the largest natural and cultural history museum on Florida's Gulf Coast. Walking distance from Downtown Bradenton and just 20 minutes from Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key, the Museum is a great place to spend the day with family and friends!

The Museum includes the Bishop Planetarium and Parker Manatee Aquarium. Now with the new Plantarium projection system, the Bishop Planetarium is ranked among the most advanced Planetarium technologies in the world.

This Museum has something for everyone! Come see daily manatee presentations and planetarium shows. The museum is home to the Parker Manatee Aquarium which is a second stage rehabilitation center for manatees injured in the wild.

Family Night - first Saturday of most months, 4 - 9 p.m. HALF PRICE ADMISSION
All families are invited to our popular themed Family Night events. Kids enjoy fun and games while learning something cool! Parents and friends can experience the Museum, Aquarium and Planetarium for HALF PRICE admission!

think + drink (science) - second Wednesday of most months, 7 - 9 pm. $5 General Admission / $3 Museum Members.
Join us for this monthly program featuring conversations between local scientists and the science-curious about cutting-edge topics you just don’t get to discuss every day. Beer, wine, soda and snacks available for purchase.  
Stelliferous Live -  fourth Wednesday of most months, 7 - 9 pm. $5 General Admission / $3 Museum Members.
Explore upcoming night skies in the all-digital Bishop Planetarium and discuss recent astronomy news with Planetarium Director Jeff Rodgers. Beer, wine, soda and snacks available for  purchase.
