Bradenton Area Turtle Trail

During this time, our community is social distancing, and staying safe and healthy. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t interact with our neighbors. The Bradenton Area Turtle Trail can bring our community together while ensuring we keep our distance and remain safe. Whether you’re displaying a sea turtle at a home or business, or you’re on the lookout for sea turtles popping up all over the Bradenton Area, this is a fun and safe way to show our community we’re stronger together even when we’re apart. See below how you can be a part of the Bradenton Area Turtle Trail.

To Display

All you need is a sea turtle. It could be a stuffed animal, a statue, a painting, or you can even download your own sea turtle and color it in yourself. Be as creative as you can, and don’t worry about going outside the lines.

Download Your Own Sea Turtle

Once you have your turtle ready, here’s what you do.

  • Display your sea turtle in a place others can see it. We suggest:
    • your front window
    • your porch
    • at an essential business
    • or anywhere your imagination takes you
  •  Follow the #BradentonAreaTurtleTrail on social media to see if someone shares your turtle.

Sea Turtle Searching

While you’re getting some fresh air while practicing safe social distancing, keep an eye out for the sea turtles other residents are displaying. If you see a sea turtle on display, you should:

  • Take a pic
  • Post it on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook with #BradentonAreaTurtleTrail
  • And keep an eye out for the next one!

If you want to get in on the fun, download, print, color, and display your own sea turtle. Click here.

With turtle season just around the corner, now is great time to to learn about the sea turtles who also call the Bradenton Area home and the conservation efforts Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch & Shorebird Monitoring coordinates to keep them safe. Please consider making a donation as well to ensure these efforts continue long into the future.
