Enjoy an Evening of Festive Holiday Carols and Tales

The Powel Crosley Estate presents “Dickens at the Crosley,” which returns this holiday season. Guests will immerse themselves in the historic glamour of the estate as they move from room to room to experience a festive, family evening of theater, traditional carols and tales.

Performances will take place: December 8-10 at 7:30 p.m., December 11-13 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., December 15-17 at 7:30 p.m. and December 18 & 20 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at 8374 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, Fla., and will include:

“A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens: Powel and Gwendolyn Crosley portray Charles & Catherine Dickens, and many other characters as well, while they perform this classic Holiday tale of the redemption of one miserly Ebenezer Scrooge. Gather around the Great Room for a” visual” radio drama in studio!

“The Gentle Giant” by Oscar Wilde: Sometimes referred to as “The Angry Giant”, this story is one of the few short stories that the brilliant playwright, Oscar Wilde, penned. It is a lovely tale with a poignant and surprising ending.

“The Night Before Christmas” by Clement C. Moore & “The True History of the Hare and the Tortoise” by Lord Dunsany: Little Victoria, daughter to Charles & Catherine, has been invited back to the party to bring her own interpretation to classic children’s holiday stories that just may include you in the cast of characters.
